What happens to the survivor benefits if I die and there are dependent children?
If there are dependent children, each dependent child will receive a monthly pension equal to 20% of the Plan member's unreduced pension, instead of 10%, to a maximum of 80% shared equally among all dependent children.
What happens to the survivor benefits if I die and there are no dependent children?
As a survivor, when you die, no further monthly survivor benefit is payable. If an amount remains, it will be paid to the Plan member's beneficiary or estate.
